International law enforcement agencies INTERPOL and Eurojust have delivered significant blows to cryptocurrency crime syndicates, recovering hundreds of millions in stolen funds. Eurojust's operation targeted a criminal network responsible for $116 million in thefts over several years, culminating in the arrest of its leaders.

INTERPOL's Operation HAECHI VI spanned 40 countries and focused on seven types of financial crimes including fraud and money laundering. The year-long investigation resulted in the freezing of 400 cryptocurrency wallets and 68,000 bank accounts, with $342 million in fiat currency recovered. "HAECHI demonstrates that fund recovery is possible through global cooperation," said Theos Badege of INTERPOL's Financial Crime Centre.

While details remain scarce, the operations mark a growing capability by authorities to track and seize digital assets involved in illicit activities. The crackdown comes as crypto-related crimes continue to proliferate worldwide, challenging law enforcement to develop new investigative techniques.
